Introducing the New Master of Science in Financial Technology Program

The STEM-designated degree program provides graduates with intricate knowledge of cutting-edge developments in the field of fintech and is available in both a fully online or hybrid format.

Ranked in the top 25 for Best Graduate Business Specialty Programs by U.S. News & World Report, Fairfield's Charles F. Dolan School of Business has launched the new MS in Financial Technology Program in response to the growing demand for professionals who are proficient in financial technology. ϲʹ is one of the first universities in the country to offer this STEM-designated degree program that can be completed in as little as nine months. 

“As technology continues to revolutionize every aspect of our lives, the need for forward-thinking individuals who can bridge the gap between finance and technology has never been more crucial,” said chair of the Finance Department and associate professor of finance Katsiaryna Bardos, PhD. “Our program is designed to address this demand head-on, offering students an unparalleled educational experience that blends theoretical frameworks with practical applications in cutting-edge financial technologies.”

Students will study both financial principles and technological advancements with topics including blockchain and its applications, cryptocurrencies, artificial intelligence, algorithmic trading, strategic management of technology and innovation, and ethical considerations for the regulation of fintech. Ideal for recent graduates and working professionals, as well as senior executives, students will benefit from taking finance classes that provide a foundational background in traditional finance, fintech classes that explore leading innovations in the field, analytics courses that provide an in-depth understanding of the technology that is driving innovation, and management classes that prepare students to be leaders in the sector.

Available in both a fully online or hybrid format, the MS in Financial Technology Program positions graduates for a number of roles in the fast-paced field of fintech.
